BRAVEN: A response to Venezuela's crisis

We chose this topic from the curiosity we had when seeing and hearing about the protest going on in on campus about Venezuela. Jeanette Perez and I sat down with  Director of Operations for the Brazilian-Venezuelan Student Association, Walter Cafaro. He explained to us that on February 12, 2014, Venezuela National Youth Day, students took to peaceably protest against lack of human rights given to them by their government. During the protest the government used armed forces to disassemble the unarmed protesters, which led to an accounted for 3 civilian deaths. The government also proceeded to take Venezuela offline as they pleaded for help through social networks such a twitter.
